Working together with:
The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) and the Scottish equivalent (RIPSA) requires people engaged in this type of activity to apply 6 tests to their applications and authorisations and they must understand some key terms including Necessary, Proportionality, Less Intrusive Method and Collateral Intrusion. However, there is much confusion surrounding these terms.

This lack of understanding is regularly reported upon by all of the inspection bodies when they conduct their inspections and is exploited by defence barristers in legal proceedings, resulting in the understanding of them now regularly being examined in courts across the UK.

Our ½ day workshop allows delegates to not only understand these crucial terms but also how to apply them when engaging in RIPA activity.

Our trainers were involved at a national level designing a framework around these key terms and delegates will receive first-hand knowledge of this work and how to articulate these key terms.

"I never understood the difference between necessity and proportionality as no one could ever do it clearly but I do now. This was the best RIPA training I've ever had."
